Director of OperationsEmail Andrew
I came to All Saints’ as Director of Operations in January 2012, and am delighted to be beginning my life as an Episcopalian at such a vibrant and quirky community of faith. Raised in the Evangelical Covenant Church, I completed my Master of Divinity at North Park Theological Seminary in 2009. I promptly ventured off to Sweden to play gospel music, and then returned to Chicago to serve as an associate pastor in a local Covenant Church. In 2011, a friend and I started the blog "Coming Out Covenant" to share the stories of LGBT individuals within the Covenant Church, and to help move that denomination more towards full inclusion. During my years of preparation for life as a Covenant pastor, I was also secretly developing a deep appreciation for the rich liturgy and spirituality I saw in the Episcopal tradition. In the end, I think I can safely say that I’ve arrived home.
Originally from New England, I have three older siblings who have made me the proud uncle to the eight most beautiful and brilliant children in the world. If I’m not dreaming about clam chowder and the Atlantic coast, I’m fantasizing about midsummer in the Swedish countryside with crayfish and schnapps. And yet I truly enjoy life in this magnificent city: whether running or biking along the lakefront, listening to music in the park, searching for ice cream, or dancing to Michael Jackson in my apartment. I like collecting hymnals, mixing cocktails, and tying bow ties, but Bonnie still claims that I bring a staid Scandinavian presence to this sometimes chaotic parish. In any case, I love it here and am excited to be on board.
