United Power
We believe people working together have a great capacity to produce positive changes in communities and the country.
All Saints in partnership with United Power continues the persistent and patient work of transforming “the world as it is” into “the world as it should be.” We envision life in our city and neighborhoods where ALL of God’s people can thrive and we work to address the systemic issues that are cause inequity and injustice.
In early 2019 All Saints joined United Power for Action and Justice (United Power), part of the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF). In September 2019, 136 parishioners were among the 1,251 people who met with Chicago’s new Mayor to hold her accountable on policies to address gun violence, racial inequity, and economic investment on the south and west sides of Chicago.
Through our affiliation with United Power, All Saints was invited by North Lawndale to raise funds and help build two model homes. These homes would serve as ‘leaven’ for a housing and community organizing initiative on the west side of Chicago. In 2020, All Saints responded with the Greenlining Campaign.
Today those two homes have grown into United Power’s Reclaim Chicago campaign. An effort to build 2000 homes across four historically disinvested neighborhoods on the south and west sides of Chicago. The city council committed 500 lots in May of 2024. The Illinois legislature committed over $10 million in funds for home buyer subsidies and private foundations have committed over $30 million to a renewable construction loan fund.
As of July 2025, 76 homes have been built and sold, and construction is beginning on another 73 homes. In the fall of 2025, the city will turn over another 125 homes to United Power.

In 2024, we took the critical step of building our public relationships with elected officials to show our commitment and organized power. We had an ambitious goal to meet with seven alderpeople in the wards where we live. Between October 2024 and March 2025 we met with all seven:

All Saints continues to stand with neighbors and other member institutions of United Power to build homes and Reclaim Chicago. We also continue to listen to each other, our northside neighbors and elected officials in order to work for justice where we live.
Working together, there is no limit to what we can do.
