Dear Friends,
On Friday we said goodbye to long-time and beloved parishioner Julie Donalek with a funeral 10:00am. Julie is the best of All Saints: fiercely committed to justice and to this community, willing to work hard for what she believes in, and reveling in joy where she can. I will miss her dearly.
This weekend, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost—there will be great music, baptisms at 11:00am, and lots and lots of red and yellow and orange as we remember that the Holy Spirit on Pentecost is represented not by a peaceful dove but by tongues of fire!
Pentecost is the last day that we burn the Paschal candle at our Sunday services, but the fire doesn’t really go out because we believe that the flame that represents the light of Christ spreads among all of us who have received the Holy Spirit and is now kindled in our hearts.
Don’t forget to wear red!
See you in church!
Faithfully, Suzanne+
